Hand painted skateboard Decks, drawings, new work on paper series, painted toys, a side-walk parade and performance by El Esquadrón Nopalero. And this is a first, my artwork comes to life with the special performance by local Pilsen artists, friends, professional acrobats, actors, and clowns.
Omar Valencia owner of Oxalá Fine Arts went all out celebrating his gallery and store's 5th anniversary. My blessings and many thanks go out to Omar, Patrick and friends for making this possible. It was a perfect night. The atmosphere was festive, DJ Mar spinning global beats, and down home dance music, food by local Pilsen restaurants, Cocina Mundial and Fogata Village. The white tent in the front welcomed guests and the backyard garden was made available for all to chill. There was a feeding frenzy moment when it came to buying my artwork. I am proud to announce that the exhibit and anniversary celebration was a huge success. New work was quickly brought in the following Monday to replace what sold. So yes, there is some very cool artwork for sale.

Dear Friends, here are two of the fliers announcing the opening of "Heroes and other Strange Things" my solo exhibit and side-walk parade and performance during Oxalá Fine Arts 5th anniversary celebration. The exhibit will run thru July 24, 2010. For those of you that could not attend the opening we are going to have a closing exhibition party complete with another side-walk parade and performance by El Escuadrón Nopalero. Come see my characters from my artwork come alive, as performed by local Pilsen artists, Jean Parisi, Lionel Bottari, Susana Aguilar, Douglas Grew, Jacqueline Negrete, and Rosalie Mancera.
