New Small Works on paper Series, The calavera series celebrating Día de los Muertos, 2008, "Calaquita Nopalera".

I began this Calavera series last month in September. I hope to have at least 50 done by Octobers' 18th Street Open Studios. Whether I have 50 or 100 by October 18, I know that I'll be doing these throughout the year. They're way too much fun to stop. The originals are for sale at Sundays Pilsen Community Market. And, if you cannot get an original right away, I have lovely laser color posters for a modest price. Enjoy the one's that made it to the photographer. More to come later.

I think this little Calaca Angelito needs a comb.

Arte y Papel Artesanias

Wire and paper Sirena by local artist Susana Aguilar. All I can say is once this beauty came to our table we immediately sold out of most of our wire and paper crafts. Now we can't make them fast enough. Price for the mermaids begin at $35 and up. Still, more photos to come of our little calavera angelitos and wooden equilibristas.

Always the dutiful son. Comino hanging out at the Market.

Looking, but not at the camera. That's Comino for you. He usually accompanies us to the market on Sundays. I swear, I would probably be rich by now if I charged a fee for petting my dog. He gets more attention then our artwork. Maybe it's time to make him work for his keep.

The French Connection: Pilsen Community Market

This is Christian Desmigneux our French connection. A good friend. He's been helping us out every Sunday set up our stall at the Market. He's really getting into the spirit and has even been making sales. Who said the French were only good at cooking and fine wines...

Join us every Sunday in October at the Pilsen Community Market.

Here I am coffee in hand, sitting in front of my Arte y Papel Changarro (stall) last Sunday at the Pilsen Community Market. A little relaxed after setting up. I think Esperanza Gama and I finally got the hang of this. Now all we need is the customers to start showing up.
